FEMA National Training and Education
FEMA, in conjunction with the National Domestic Preparedness Consortium, provides Indirect, Mobile/Non-Resident, Resident, and Virtual course offerings through NDPC's centers. These courses are offered at no costs to first responders. The NDPC centers are:
- National Disaster Preparedness Training Center (University of Hawaii) - Specializes in natural hazards and coastal community preparedness.
- Counterterrorism Operations Support (Nevada National Test Site) - Radiological and nuclear WMD terrorism training.
- New Mexico Tech Energetic Materials Research and Testing Center (Socorro, New Mexico) - Preparedness and response to incidents involving explosives.
- Security and Emergency Response Training Center (Pueblo, Colorado) - Hazardous materials and weapons of mass destruction response for all forms of surface transportation.
- TEEX National Emergency Response and Recovery Training Center (College Station, Texas) - Emergency operations center, incident command, emergency medical services, public works, and cybersecurity training.
- LSU National Center for Biomedical Research (Louisiana State University) - Law enforcement, biological incidents, and terrorism against agriculture and food sources.
- Center for Domestic Preparedness (Anniston, Alabama) - provides a variety of first responder trainings to 17 disciplines.
